A friend of mine sent this picture to me. Thanks so much Amy! The Angel Moroni was put on the steeple of the temple yesterday. What a beautiful addition. What is most exciting for me, is that now that they are almost finished with the exterior of the temple, they can begin work on the inside. Which is where the important stuff happens. How lucky we are to be able to have a temple in our own town. Every Sunday Jaysen and I go to Jerome to his parents' home for dinner and on the way back, even from Golf Course Road you can see the large white structure. It's almost like it's glowing white.
Doesn't it give you goosebumps?

We had a presentation on Tuesday in our ward about the temple in Rexburg (which is the same as the Twin Falls one). Apparently they have a missionaries (couples) who are solely in charge of watching over the progress of the temple. They write up reports daily on progress, and every week they submit a report to Salt Lake. It was REALLY interesting to see how they make the temple. The whole earthquake proofing process and the great care they take in making every detail just perfect. Stephen, Mr. Architect was even amazed at things like the footings there used for the structure to stand on. I don't remember the size of them but they were HUGE. It was nothing compared to the cheesy commercial building in Idaho Falls that he's been designing. Truly the prophets are inspired when they work with architects/contractors in order to design the buildings to last through the millenium. Another thing we learned is that both Twin Falls and Rexburg temples will have their murals painted by Del Parson's son (the guy that painted Christ in the red robe) his name has escaped my brain right now. The "world" paintings in the endowment rooms in Twin Falls is suppose to have Shoshone Falls and everything. It is very exciting to watch the temples being built right there in your hometown. The other thing they stressed was the fact that the temple grounds were always kept extremely clean. Absolutely no garbage is left laying around, only completely clean dirt is used, etc. I'm excited for it to be done so that we can take the kids to the open house.
We plan on taking Landon to the open house here as well. I think he's going to miss out on the dedication though. You have to be 8. I don't know if it will take them past December to get it all done or not. We'll see. It would be neat to take him to that as well.
