Shoes!

So, I went to my friend Jen's house in Utah this last weekend for a "girls weekend" and had soooo much fun! I bought six pairs of shoes...seven if you count the pair I bought for Mackenzee. So excited!!! I ate tons of food and shopped literally until I dropped...so all in all a great weekend! We shopped seven hours straight. NICE! And the best part was that there were NO kids or hubbies. Shopping with kids is far from fun. Although Mackenzee is getting pretty good at it. She says the word shoes and pretties all the time and has to have her hair done before we leave the house. Who'd have thought I'd have a girlie girl? Although, she will wear the cute shoes, clothes, and pretty hair all while digging in the dirt. So, I guess that's about right.....sigh.

Smooch!

Hello! It's been awhile. life has been crazy hectic. but that's okay. it's valentine's day tomorrow! so i just wanted to tell you all how much i love you! smooch!

see my kids smooching? they are soooo cute.

today my sassy kenzee put my shoes on and traipsed around the house.

she put my pink heels on too, but doesn't quite have the walking part down with those. ;0)

i am now working for my hubby. i'm the book keeper for his appraisal company. it's going well and has worked out so much better for me. I can't believe we're already into February! It's insane. My Mackenzee has decided that she wants to start trying out the whole "going potty" thing. Every time she would go in her diaper she would grab herself and want to be changed. So, I just figured we'd get out the training potty and let her check it out and play with it for a few months so she wouldn't be scared. Landon was scared of the potty. So, I didn't want to go there again. Anyway....She's loves it. She's used it twice already, and it's really sad for me. Not that I want to keep doing the diaper thing, but she's my baby and she's definitely not supposed to be old enough to be doing this already. I haven't even set aside a "potty time" or anything. She just knows, that if she's got her diaper off and she needs to pee, she needs sit on the potty. She even said the word "pee" the other day. Nice, huh? Sigh.
Landon is almost toothless. He lost two teeth in two weeks and his other front tooth is loose too. I told him he wasn't going to be able to eat pretty soon! He thinks it's great. Especially since the tooth fairy apparently has an excess of money and is paying high prices for teeth these days.....(talk to my husband....sigh)
Anyway...enjoy the pics!

Potty Talk

I received this email from my aunt and had to post it here too. It made me laugh so hard! Even Jaysen was wondering what was wrong with me. Anyway....enjoy your giggles of parenthood.

For Mothers and Grandmothers Everywhere (and Aunts)
Potty Talk
A 3-year-old tells all from his mother’s restroom stall.
By Shannon Popkin
My little guy, Cade, is quite a talker. He loves to communicate and does it quite well. He talks to people constantly, whether we’re in the library, the grocery store or at a drive-thru window.
People often comment on how clearly he speaks for a just turned 3-year-old. And you never have to ask him to turn up the volume. It’s always fully cranked. There’ve been several embarrassing times that I’ve wished the meaning of his words would have been masked by a not-so-audible voice, but never have I wished this more than last week at Costco.
Halfway through our shopping trip, nature called, so I took Cade with me into the restroom. If you’d been one of the ladies in the restroom that evening, this is what you would have heard coming from the second to last stall:
“Mommy, are you gonna go potty? Oh! Why are you putting toiwet paper on the potty, Mommy? Oh! You gonna sit down on da toiwet paper now? Mommy, what are you doing? Mommy, are you gonna go stinkies on the potty?”
At this point I started mentally counting how many women had been in the bathroom when I walked in. Several stalls were full. 4? 5? Maybe we could wait until they all left before I had to make my debut out of this stall and reveal my identity.
Cade continued, “Mommy, you ARE going stinkies aren’t you? Oh, dats a good girl, Mommy! Are you gonna get some candy for going stinkies on the potty? Let me see doze stinkies, Mommy! OH! Mommy! I’m trying to see in dere. Oh! I see dem. Dat is a very good girl, Mommy. You are gonna get some candy!”
I heard a few faint chuckles coming from the stalls on either side of me. Where is a screaming newborn when you need her? Good grief. This was really getting embarrassing. I was definitely waiting a long time before exiting. Trying to divert him, I said, “Why don’t you look in Mommy’s purse and see if you can find some candy. We’ll both have some!”
“No, I’m trying to see doze more stinkies. Oh! Mommy!” He started to gag at this point. “Uh oh, Mommy. I fink I’m gonna frow up. Mommy, doze stinkies are making me frow up!! Dat is so gross!!” As the gags became louder, so did the chuckles outside my stall. I quickly flushed the toilet in hopes of changing the subject. I began to reason with myself: OK. There are four other toilets. If I count four flushes, I can be reasonably assured that those who overheard this embarrassing monologue will be long gone.
“Mommy! Would you get off the potty, now? I want you to be done going stinkies! Get up! Get up!” He grunted as he tried to pull me off. Now I could hear full-blown laughter. I bent down to count the feet outside my door.
“Oh, are you wooking under dere, Mommy? You wooking under da door? What were you wooking at, Mommy? You wooking at the wady’s feet?” More laughter. I stood inside the locked door and tried to assess the situation.
“Mommy, it’s time to wash our hands now. We have to go out now, Mommy.” He started pounding on the door. “Mommy, don’t you want to wash your hands? I want to go out!!”
I saw that my “wait ‘em out” plan was unraveling. As I sheepishly opened the door, and found an open sink, I thought, Where’s the fine print on the ‘motherhood contract’ where I signed away every bit of my privacy?
But as my little herald gave me a big, cheeky grin while he rubbed bubbly soap between his chubby little hands, I thought, I’d sign it all away again, just to be known as Mommy to this little fellow.

Happy Birthday Jaysen!

We celebrated Jaysen's birthday this last weekend. Happy Birthday!!! It was days long too...I swear. We were supposed to go to Boise, but due to family health problems of his cousins (who we were going to stay with) our plans were cancelled the day before. Landon about had a heart attack. We were going to have a "family" party on Thursday night with presents and birthday cake since we would be gone on Friday, which is Jaysen's actual bday. Well, since we weren't going to be gone anymore, we figured we'd just wait until Friday for presents and cake. Holy cow...you'd think we had told Landon the world was going to end. So, we did presents and cake on Thursday anyway after much pleading on Landon's part towards his dad. So, Friday we had planned on doing a special dinner instead for his birthday then....and then at the last minute Jaysen decides we need to invite my family over for dinner too. Sigh. So, after asking my sis and bro and finding they couldn't make it, I called Jaysen, who told me that we were going to our neice's basketball game in Filer anyway, so we should do it on Saturday instead anyway.....so, instead, Jaysen's parents popped by on Friday night and we watched a movie. Then, on Saturday night everyone came over for steak and crab legs. My house stunk so bad!!!! I HATE FISH! I told him he better remember I did this for him for forever...and realize just how much I love him that I would do that. Those crab legs were just wrong. And they stunk and then my house......sigh. The boys loved them and ate until they made themselves sick. So, I guess it turned out well.

Here are Cam and Jaysen eating their crab legs. Gross! I actually did try it.....yeah...still doesn't taste good.
And finally, tonight, we went to the Burnhams and had Mexican food for dinner for his bday. Talk about overkill. YOu'd think he was important or something......
Anyway.....happy birthday Jaysen. It makes me warm and fuzzy knowing that each year that I'm getting older, you will always still be almost 6 years older than me.

Here we go again!

Okay, so I stopped posting because I was sure that nobody was even looking at my blog. Nobody ever left a comment or said anything about it, so I figured it was a waste of my time. Of course, as soon as I stopped I had several people ask me when I was going to post again. Sigh. So, here we go again.....

A lot has happened since my last post. My baby turned one, sniff sniff....and my other baby turned 7! Even bigger sniffs.

We, of course went through Christmas and I'm glad it's over. Though it was really nice to spend time with family.

And then there was New Years. Which, in my home, meant the Fiesta Bowl was coming. We had friends and family over for the big game and were excited to watch our team (BSU) win. What a win it was. Lots of yelling going on in the house. Good stuff.

Anyway....I'll attempt to continue posting here as often as stuff happens. Which means not too often....though there is a certain someone getting older this month in my house and he's not too happy about it...so I might have to make a few jabs at him about that one. ;0)

soccer!

We had Landon's very first soccer game tonight. They won! Even though they don't keep score, Landon did....he almost made a goal too! Just shy of the goal....

And he got to be goalie for a bit as well. He made sure to remind us that no one was able to score on him. He has some good little soccer players on his team. I was impressed...sure they have all played before, it's just Landon that is the newbie to the game, but still. I wish I had their energy. I would have been huffing and puffing up and down the field. ^_^

This was at the end of the game...isn't he cute? he had so much fun!
