Healthy???

I have changed my eating habits....I am a healthy eater. It's for the birds. I tell you what.....holy cow. I did it to help me lose this last little bit of weight. But, you know. I'm not doing any better this way than I was before. Even with the exercising and tracking my calories burned vs. calories eaten. I've only gone over once in three weeks and that was because I wasn't home and it's so stinking hard to find fast food that is healthy. Anyway...I understand the idea behind it, but man! It's hard to find foods that aren't bad for you too. Everything is either loaded with too much fat, too many carbs (the bad kind), too much sugar, etc. etc. etc. It's almost like unless you eat straight vegetables....you're screwed. Don't get me wrong....I love vegetables. i eat a lot of them . BUT.....I like pasta....and I like cheese...but it's loaded with fat. So, my fat tracker tells me I've eaten too much fat for the day if I eat too much of it. Sigh. I totally broke down last night and went to the Shake Out and ate an entire mixed berry shake. It was soooooo good. Fresh strawberries and blueberries. Oh my gosh. It tasted wonderful!! (And no, I didn't go over....I calculated it in pathetically enough) And, I've found that my taste buds screw my diet up as well. If I liked fish, I'd do better....if I liked to drink milk....I'd do better. BUT....I don't like either. And, Jaysen is a beef man, so he gets tired quickly with all of the chicken I've been cooking. It's like a no win situation. So, even with the cardio and strength training exercises I've been doing, by the time I get to dinner....it's over. I think you have to gain 10 lbs. just for browning up the burger in the fry pan. Oh well.

So, we got my brother moved in. Now the unpacking begins for them. I do not envy that. We just did it 18 months ago.......they have a beautiful home though....I envy the space. So much storage!!!! I have an entryway closet for coats, and that's it beyond the bedroom closets.....no extra closet storage. Not even a linen closet. Argh!!!!! It makes life frustrating because I have a serious control problem. I've gotten better than I used to be....I no longer alphabetize my movie selection....but I do color code my clothes in my closet....and my collection of childrens books...stuff like that. So, to not have a place for everything and have it be all organized drives me crazy. I've had to let go on some things. Otherwise I would go crazy. But, I would love the space my brother has. There are shelves and cupboards and closets galore.

You know......I'm going to go off on a tangent here. People are so stinking rude these days. I just don't get it. What happened to people's ability to smile and just be pleasant? Are their lives that horrible???? It's just in my nature to smile at people as they walk by. Occasionally I give a quick, "hi"....and it's a rare occasion that you get a smile back. And beyond that.....It's almost like people think that they are owed something out of life. Honestly, people.....you are owed absolutely nothing. You have to work to get what you want and respect comes through others seeing that hard work and determination. If you think that you are worth something....prove it. If you think that you should have something...work for it. Holy cow! Even those that have things....half of them don't appreciate those that made it possible for them to have what they've got. Sigh...I told you it was a tangent.

Anyway.....tomorrow is Memorial Day. Jaysen is going golfing and I.....don't know what I'm doing. Guess we'll find out.

New milestones

So....my little Mackenzee grew tooth number two today. And boy is she enjoying those things. Crackers beware!!! AND........she sat up by herself today...such an overacheiver. What am I going to do with her???? I put her hair into itty bitty pigtails today too. How hilarious!! When I took out the itty bitty rubber bands, her hair wouldn't lay flat. So, now she's got these little devil horns made out of hair. It's great. I know...I could go on and on.

Today was the first day of summer vacation for Landon. How spoiled is he? He went to work this morning with Jaysen while I went visiting teaching and then when they were done they went to the golf course to "practice". Landon will be starting golf camp this next month...baseball too. We're going to be running around with our heads chopped off...but he will be plenty entertained. Jaysen is sure that Landon has this "raw" talent when it comes to golf. He went on and on about how Landon was a natural at chipping. For those of you non-golfers, this is a way to lightly hit the ball onto the green with an iron(I think)...I'm no pro and only understand what I've overheard Jaysen talking about. Anyway....I teased Landon about eating "chips" on the golf course. He thought it was hilarious that I didn't even know what chipping was.

Well...we've got a busy weekend ahead of us, moving my brother and his family here from Utah. We are all so excited to have them coming here. Landon is especially excited to have his cousin Austin living so close. They are best buds. And to top that off, my niece Alina will be here!!! She is just two months older than my Mackenzee, so they will be able to grow up together. It's going to be so much fun. And their middle child, Greta, is just a year and a half older, so in a couple of years they'll all be running around giggling together. You can just imagine. (Cam and Holl....you guys are swell too....seriously).

photos!!!!

Here they are!!!! The much awaited photos of mi familia.....My studly six year old, who truly is a control freak. Video Game control freak that is. He is sooooo sure that all of his friends and cousins want to just sit and watch him play video games. And they can't play...noooooooo....they don't play it the way that he does, so the are obviously do it wrong. He had to show them how its done. But, isn't he so handsome? Blonde hair and freckles....too hard not to love. Even when he's telling me how it is. He IS always right, you know.

And my hubby.....how handsome is he????? Dang.....I know how to pick 'em. I hate pictures of myself at this point. Still have a few more pounds of baby weight to lose. Sigh. Never ending, I swear. And....only to eventually get pregnant again and have to do the whole thing ALL over again. It's a good thing these kids are cute and soooooo worth it. Anyway....I made Jaysen cut out most of my body in this snapshot of me and my baby. She is a miniature me I've decided. We got out my baby pictures the other night and we're practically twins. These Casperson genes are strong. What can we do about it???? Her mouth still belongs to her daddy. She makes these faces sometimes and I swear its just like those her dad makes. Its hilarious. I'll have to post the "twin" photos of us. I'll need to hook up the scanner so I can download the photos.

But look at her!!!! Look how big she is. She is six months old in this picture, but I swear she's almost as big as a one year old. Even with her being sick....she's grown more than most babies. Off the charts in height and weighing a healthy 17.2 pounds. Holy cow!!!!

Don't I have the most beautiful family????? I know, my opinion is completely biased...but shouldn't it be? Don't we all think we have the most beautiful families?

Anyway...more pics to come....that is the purpose of this blog isn't it????

It has begun

So, not sure how many of you out there will actually check this out, but there's so much hullaballoooooooo over these blogs, that I figured what the heck. I mean....why be different, right? Even my brother has joined up. He's way more political than I am though...so if you're into that kind of thing you might want to read up on his blog instead. Either way.......

This is my family blog. For any and all who want to take part in the goings on of our boring days. Check out the latest in the saga that is my life. Okay...so we're a pretty dull bunch. But.....we do have fun and enjoy spending time together.

Tomorrow is Landon's last day of kindergarten. I have some sadness associated with this. He has always been my baby. He always will be. We've been through so much together...but, if kindergarten is over, that means he goes into first grade. I know...stating the obvious here. But, that is REAL school. Not just practice, like kindergarten is. Then again....I am extremely excited to know that first grade also means a full day of school. None of this running back and forth stuff. That has really gotten old. And we are sooooo doing the school bus thing next year. It actually stops right in front on my house. How convenient is that? Then....I never have to leave the house. Wait.......

Mackenzee started to crawl this week. On our anniversary none the less. She just HAD to steal the day. lol. Anyway....she is getting into everything!!!! Although I do have to say...she is just adorable. She does this little wiggle first...then gets up in push up form with her cute little bottom sticking up in the air....then, finally drops to her knees and scoots forward army style. You know....on elbows dragging the body forward. Hey, whatever works. She ends up getting what she's after. Her reflux is still going strong. We have her on a pretty high dosage of Prevacid, and the doctor isn't actually sure if it really is reflux anymore. So, we are taking her to a specialist in a month (that's the soonest that we could get her in) to see what the real problem is. Her ped. thinks it might be something that starts with the letter 'e'....some big word that I can't pronounce so I just call it 'esophogitis'....because it has something to do with the esophogas. Anyway....

Jaysen and I celebrated our two year anniversary this last week. WOW!!! Two whole years. It seems longer than that though...but in a good way. Like we've always just been together. Sadly it hasn't been that way. I look forward to anniversary's to come. He's a good man, husband, father, etc. I got lucky......there's not too many like him out there. And too many of us girls settle for way less. Somebody needs to spread the word out there that it's sooooo not worth settling. Wait a little longer for the good ones. It's worth it.

Pictures will come. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to post some. I'd love comments!!!!
