Honestly, naptime is my least favorite time of day. How is it that when we are little we fight so hard NOT to have to take a nap, and then when we are grown up we have to fight so hard NOT to fall asleep?
Mackenzee is like this. She hates taking naps. So, every day after lunch the battle begins. It really gets old. Today was no different. I put her to bed and went about doing my other things. Mackenzee must assume I am deaf because I could hear her running back and forth across the floor upstairs. So, I went upstairs and found her with her cat inside my bathroom with the door closed. I'm not sure why she chose the bathroom...but perhaps she thought this would be the "safest" place to hide.
Of course, she gets in trouble and is given the usual threat that if she doesn't go to sleep then blah, blah, blah...{the threat changes from day to day depending on my mood} Well, today wasn't one of my better days. I was doing ROCK homework and was NOT in the mood for naptime problems. So, I left her in her bed and went back to my homework. AGAIN....I hear running. The entire process gets repeated numerous times over the course of an hour. And, at this point...
I am SO done.
She gets the ULTIMATE threat. Yes....a swat on the bum if she doesn't go to sleep.
Guess what she still didn't do?
So, I delivered on my threat. That's right....I'm a mean mom that way.
At this point, you'd think she would be in tears because her mom had gone ALL THE WAY this time. You think she'd hurry and try to go to sleep so it didn't happen again..right?
Wanna know what my daughter did instead? .JPG)
I swatted her on the bum and she looked at me with her most defiant look and said, "I should have farted on your hand!"
Sigh....such a princess I have...
I blame it on her brother. :0)
{Just so you know, it still took another 30 minutes for her to finally go to sleep}
