Yesterday was a busy day in the kitchen. As I said before, I am trying to get my "homemaker" ON. I canned 52 jars of peaches a while back, and then last week I did 21 pints and 10 quarts of applesauce with my mom. I still had apples left over even after all that canning, and so I decided to can them as just sliced apples that can be used later for yummy apple desserts.
Aren't they so pretty? And...they were super easy too. My mom has this fabulous contraption that not only peels the apple for me, but cores it and slices it at the same time. Each apple only took about 20 seconds to do. Even Jaysen was amazed and intrigued. :0)
And, because Mackenzee BEGS to get her bake ON almost every day, she helped me make cinnamon chip muffins last night. When I saw her grab the muffin tins like this I had to take a picture. She makes me laugh so hard. :0) My dear Landon was excited to help as well, but opted to use up one of his video game days instead. The stinker.

What? Where's the recipe??
Mmmmmm muffins. You can't post about food when I'm pregnant because I'm always hungry! I'm going to have to go make muffins now. You won't recognize the fat cow sitting next to you at Thanksgiving this year! Mckenzee looks so stinkin cute!
Yummy They looked good to start you will have to try them again and post pictures !
I love her little apron!
Wow Wee! You did get your homemaker ON!!! Bravo!!
I want one of those apple corer peeler slicer thingies!!!!
Your awesome I must say! You are the queen of canning now:)
What an inspiration I am so proud that young moms like yourself can and are still doing that stuff!
I used to do tomatoes from the garden when the kids were small...and made grape juice from the concord grapes we would go pick ...this is when we lived back east in Rochester New York..in 1982.
Seems like a life time ago.
That's because it was..hehehe
Thanks for helping bring back that great memory for me.
You are a great mom to include your children they will remember these times you had together and it will sustain your relationship in the future, I promise:)
Fondly, Barbara
I was lurking here and saw your apples..I still have many many to can..arghhh! By trial and error I have found a way not to get the "float" in your cans..boil your apple slices for two minutes before you put them in your jar..then add the hot syrup. Not trying to sound like a Know-it-all just trying to save you the despair I had, I went to make an apple crisp and had to use 2 quarts of apples cuz it was only half full of fruit and threw out the syrup..arghh.
She looks so cute with those pans of muffins and that big grin on her face! :)
